Lake District Attractions
One of the most popular family attractions in the Lake District is Trotters World of Animals on the Armathwaite Hall Estate. This attraction started with a birthday present for director Charles Graves in the form of a Long Horn Cow from his sister and wife due to his interest in rare breeds! So, Katherine came to the Estate and the concept of Trotters World of Animals was born.
Since that time this Lake District attraction has evolved from a farm park into a wildlife park and conservation of endangered species of animals is at the forefront of our ethos. A continual expansion and improvement of the Park aims to provide the animals with an enrichment programme to stimulate them within their environment. The Wildlife Park welcomes many schools from kindergarten to secondary in an informative way educating children as to the importance of our planet and the animals that live on it.
Trotters World of Animals is a fun day out for all families and one not to be missed. In addition there is a Clown About indoor play area and outdoor play park. Animal demonstrations are conducted throughout the day with talks given by our expert keepers. There is a Tearoom selling homemade products and outdoor picnic area. Children staying at the Hall are admitted free of charge with parents "two for one".
