Armathwaite Hall Country House hotel has stood magnificently on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake
in one form or another since the 11th Century. Much has changed since then and it has been almost
25 years since the current hotel Spa emerged.
Modern life has changed people’s expectations of a leisure and spa experience - the ‘Wellbeing’ lifestyle is more a way of life than a luxury in the 21st Century. As a result plans have been unveiled for a new state of the art Spa costing £5 million. This magnificent complex will feature 10 beautiful treatment rooms, including a double treatment room, a tranquillity room, 16-metre infinity pool, floor to ceiling in-door waterfall, outdoor hot tub, hydrotherapy zone, dance studio and a top of the range fitness suite.
Flagship attraction for the Lakes
Carolyn Graves, Director of Armathwaite Hall, commented: “We want to make the spa a destination in its own right and so are making a huge investment
to ensure it is one of the best spas in the country and a flagship attraction for the lakes. The plans look absolutely fantastic, providing a luxurious and contemporary feel using deep purple, blue and chocolate colours. We took inspiration from the beauty of nearby Bassenthwaite Lake to create a
peaceful and tranquil place to unwind.
