Learn how to paint with wool to create a beautiful Highland cow’s head, created with real wool fibres on a hessian background.
In this course, you will be shown how to create a 2D needle-felted picture of a Highland cow’s head.
Not only will you take home your beautiful, felted picture, but you will also get to keep the tools you used, so you can continue your new-found love of felting!
Our tutor will guide you through the tools and techniques needed, including:
- different breeds of sheep wool
- which fibres work well and why
- which needles to use for different finishes and effects
- how to correct mistakes
You will be working on a hessian background with a pre-drawn image ready for you to work on. Our tutor will show you how to build your picture through the manipulation and layout of fibres, from colour choices and blending to the beautifully intricate detailed effects to bring your cow to life!
We will provide the following equipment and tools:
- A selection of wool fibres.
- A foam mat for a working surface.
- Hessian for your background.
- Two felting needles and a Highland cow image to work from.
The day includes lunch with tea and coffee.
