Human Resources Manager

As the HR Manager, you will lead the people function, creating a great employee experience and providing a professional, commercial, and effective HR service through the application of legal knowledge and company procedures.

Key Skills & Experience

  • CIPD Level 5 accreditation or above, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment law

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with all Heads of Departments and management across the hotel, offering guidance on operational HR activities including policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment, and employment law practices, while balancing business needs.
  • Support managers in disciplinary and grievance matters, providing sound and timely advice.
  • Advise on performance-related matters including capability procedures and Improvement Performance Plans.
  • Manage absence-related cases including short- and long-term sickness, occupational health, and medical referrals.
  • Deliver practical, timely advice on individual employee relations in line with company policy, employment legislation, and best practice.
  • Take a proactive approach to HR communications across the business.
  • Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and advise management on compliance and risk factors.
  • Oversee all recruitment and selection activity for the business.
  • Engage with the local and wider community to promote Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa as an employer of choice and attend relevant recruitment events.

Working Hours

You will be the sole HR support for Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa and The Lake District Wildlife Park, working 20 to 24 hours per week over 3 or 4 days (Monday to Friday). Working hours can be arranged by mutual agreement.
