From fantastic fells to luscious lakes, there is much to discover in the Lake District. But it is not just the wonderful scenery you should be exploring – we are hosting exhilarating activities to get your blood pumping and give you a much-needed winter wellbeing boost.

Take a guided fell-walking experience

With so much stunning scenery to explore, you may not know where to start. That is where our tour guide comes in! Lucy Dunn, Conservation Education Officer at the Lake District Wildlife Park, knows everything there is to know about the fells of the Lake District and local wildlife.

Explore the nature and wildlife on the Armathwaite Hall estate with our Conservation Officer, Lucy Dunn. Wander through the woods and try to spot a roe deer or a red squirrel as you learn all about the red squirrel conservation project. Keep an eye out above for spectacular woodland birds, such as pied flycatchers and woodpeckers, or kingfishers fishing on our pond.

Head down to Bassenthwaite Lake and learn about this special water-based wildlife site, where you can spot ospreys. Finally, head down to the Lake District Wildlife Park where you can then see an array of exotic and domestic animals, from gibbons and lemurs to red pandas, otters and birds of prey.

This is a great opportunity to relax, unwind and really immerse yourself in nature without having the leave the estate. Lucy can provide you with tips on how to spot wildlife and can also tell you all about the surrounding mountains, fells, wildlife and the conservation projects at the Park.
