Harriet Smithson from the Cumberland Flower Farm grows flowers for homes and events on her six-acre smallholding near Cockermouth.
She is passionate about the fact that her beautiful flowers do not negatively impact the world and grows them using environmentally friendly techniques that are slowly establishing a biodiverse haven for wildlife. Her naturalistic floristry style uses the fields and countryside surrounding her smallholding as its inspiration, championing a seasonal aesthetic using sustainable methods.
Sunday 3rd December 2023 | Festive Wreath Workshop | 10.00am–2.00pm
You will create a beautiful and sustainable large wreath, made using a completely compostable base, using Cumbrian-grown foliage and finished with natural trimmings and a luxurious ribbon.
For every event, we will provide:
- Materials to make floral displays
- A cream tea of scones, jam and cream tea or coffee
You will need secateurs or scissors, and we recommend you also bring gardening gloves.
