An Indian head massage aims to relieve tension in your scalp, face, neck, shoulders, upper back and upper arms.
Focusing on these acupressure points, this form of massage delivers intense relaxation, releasing any stress you are carrying in your muscles.
Traditional reflexology applies differing amounts of pressure to specific points on your feet. The same can also be done with pressure points found in your hands and ears.
Activating these specific areas using gentle pressure can encourage relaxation, as well as a feeling of renewal and healing. Some spa guests also report a lessening of pain and the release of tension.
Slip off your complimentary Armathwaite Spa slippers so your therapist has easy access to your feet. Make sure you are hydrated before the treatment, and try to avoid caffeine and alcohol to ensure you get the most out of your session.
Tell your spa therapist if you have any health concerns, especially any related to your feet.
You can also let your therapist know of any particular areas of the foot you would like them to focus on, or if you have a particular relaxation goal for the session. This will help them give you the best experience possible.
