All Armathwaite Hall mini-breaks include accommodation in one of our beautifully appointed rooms or suites, full access to our award-winning spa facilities (pools, sauna, steam room and gym) and breakfast served in The Dining Room each morning. Dinner, spa treatments, estate activities and drinks are available to add at an extra cost.
- How far is Armathwaite Hall from Keswick?
Armathwaite Hall is approximately 15 minutes by car from the centre of Keswick. Filled with independent shops, restaurants, galleries and direct access to Derwentwater, Keswick is one of the Lake District’s most popular market towns. The hotel is set on the quieter, northwestern shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, making it an ideal base for exploring the northern Lakes without the crowds.
- Is Armathwaite Hall dog-friendly?
Yes, we love dogs! We have a range of dog-friendly rooms, set on our ground floor for easy access to the gardens, while our dog-friendly menu ensures your four-legged companion is as well looked after as you are. Our pet-friendly hotel rooms accommodate a maximum of two dogs at a cost of £25 per dog, per night.
- What is the minimum stay length for a Lake District break at Armathwaite Hall?
We offers stays from a single night (our Lake District 1-night stays are particularly popular for midweek escapes) through to week-long retreats. Weekend breaks typically run Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday.
Our most popular packages are 2-night and 3-night stays, which allow enough time to explore the castle, The Spa and the surrounding national park. Check availability by calling our reservations team to discuss your preferred dates.
- What spa facilities are available during a mini-break?
All Armathwaite Hall mini-break guests enjoy unlimited access to our award-winning spa facilities from 3pm on day of check-in to 11am of check-out day.
This includes our 16-metre infinity pool, outdoor hydrotherapy pool with fell views, traditional sauna, steam room, salt inhalation aroma room, relaxation lounge and state-of-the-art gym. Spa treatments, including massages, facials and body treatments, are available to book separately at an extra cost.
- What is the best time of year to visit the Lake District for a mini-break?
Every season at Armathwaite Hall has its own particular appeal. Spring brings wild garlic and bluebells to the estate woodland. Summer is ideal for paddleboarding, wild swimming and adventurous estate activities. Autumn turns the fells to copper, while winter offers crisp walks, roaring fires and a spa that feels like the most justified luxury in the world. Midweek stays in any season tend to be quieter and often available at better rates.
