What to know before booking your winter break
A winter break at Armathwaite Hall is a genuinely wonderful experience. To help you make the most of your Lake District winter holiday we recommend the following:
- Pack for the weather. Bring plenty of warm clothing, especially if you plan to enjoy some winter walks. The Lake District landscape is beautiful during winter, but it can also get particularly cold.
- Keep an eye on the weather forecast, especially if you are planning a day exploring the great outdoors. The Lake District does get a lot of rain and some snow during the winter months. We suggest bringing a waterproof coat and an umbrella!
- Be careful of icy patches and frost when out walking or exploring our estate grounds. Countryside paths can be treacherous during the colder months. If you have hiking boots or shoes with good grip, definitely bring them along.
- Be aware of earlier closing times affecting some establishments in the nearby towns and villages during the winter months.
